The SIA sees itself as an association for employees, as well as for employers. In response to calls for better working conditions, it places reliance on information, awareness and market self-regulation.

Architecture § working conditions 2025
In partnership with Architektur Basel, Kontextur, Charlotte Malterre-Barthes and ( non- )Swiss Architects, Hochparterre will be publishing a series of articles on architecture and working conditions between autumn 2025 and spring 2026. Susanne Zenker
Born in Sweden, Susanne Zenker qualified as an architect at EPFL and worked in the profession for nine years before switching first to Steiner AG. After that she worked for SBB Immobilien for around eleven years and was latterly Head of Development and a member of the Management Board. She has been SIA President since 2024.

Laurindo Lietha
Laurindo Lietha graduated in architecture and construction economics and is responsible for procurement at the SIA, as well as for the architecture ( BGA ) and civil engineering ( BGI ) professional groups and for international affairs. He is also involved in  pro-allianz.ch , an association set up to promote project alliances in Switzerland.
